INTERVIEW: Paigey Cakey, Shotty Horroh and Connor Swindells, Star in UK Battle Rap Film ‘VS.’

This Friday, an exciting, UK battle rap film – ‘VS.’ – will hit our screens and it’s most definitely not one to miss.

We caught up with some of the cast to find out more; Paigey Cakey, Shotty Horroh, and Connor Swindells.

The phenomenal film, backed by the BBC and directed by Ed Lilly, is set to be a huge hit.

Rising actor Connor Swindells, plays Adam, a troubled teen who has been in foster care for most of his young life, and finds his way into UK battle rap, with the help of Makayla – who is played by Game of Thrones star, Fola Evans-Akingbola.

Battle rap legend, Shotty Horroh, plays the films bad guy and Paigey Cakey, stars as Miss Quotes.

We also see Jovian Wade (Blaze), who many of us were wowed by from the Shiro’s Story sagas.

Music and film have really come together for the culture lately. Just when you thought the UK rap scene was doing a lot, it’s now branching out into film more and more, which is yet another massive step.

Filmmakers, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker recently brought us ‘The Intent 2: The Come Up’, where grime don, Ghetts, made his acting debut as the main character, Jay, and a whole host of other UK artists also starred in the film.

VS. however, is a whole new concept and take on the scene and is something the UK has never really done before – we cannot wait to see it!

VS. is out in all cinemas on Friday, October 19.
